fucking ugh
google and youtube merging is the stupidest thing the internet ever did
christ. i want to start using a gmail account but i can’t because my youtube account is linked to a google account that was created back during the merge with my yahoo address.
but since you can’t fucking change the primary email on a google account, i’m stuck with the old, stupid yahoo address my 13-year-old self made that i don’t even use anymore.
and just making a new google account and setting up automatic email forwarding won’t work because i still can only be logged in to one at a time, so if i want my current YT account, i’d have to log out of my gmail account, and i’d have to switch back over and over unless i used two different broswers.
it just shouldn’t be this goddamn complicated. i’ve spent hours trying to figure this shit out and i can’t and i want to throw things and punch people and i s2g if yahoo buys tumblr and this shit happens again i’m going to detonate with fury
I’m genuinely concerned about the VIP bloodbath that’s gonna go down in 40 minutes.
Because the stupid website is ALREADY SAYING “Service Unavailable.”
I’m planning to try buying a Deluxe VIP like I’d originally planned and reselling my $75 one to another fan who’s contacted me. But I’m starting to get really doubtful.
Y’know, you’d think after so many of us complained they would actually do something to fix their problem instead of just shrugging if off because they know they’ll still sell everything. I sincerely hope Darren and his team never consider using this company for future tours. Their procedures for handling this mess are completely immature and unprofessional, and there’s absolutely no excuse for this.
Sometimes I really don’t understand college.
Why do we pay so much money for this when we’re only taking like, one or two classes a semester that actually have to do with what our future goals actually entail?
I want to be a writer. Only one class I’m taking from January to May has to do with creative writing.
Then I have an American literature course, physics class, a physics lab, a music class, and Spanish class.
Do you know which classes I have to spend the most time working on to keep my GPA up? Well, I’ll give you a hint: IT’S NOT INTRO TO CREATIVE WRITING.
It just seems like complete bullshit. I thought college was going to be focused. I thought that’s what a “major” was for. But I’m doing way more science than English. Why do I have to have a foreign language component anyway?
Sometimes it just seems like a massive waste of time and money. Like I’m stressing over things that literally won’t matter in the end. Most of them, like why light is a wave not a particle, and why it refracts and diffracts, WON’T matter.
Why do I have to waste my time learning it?
Agree with this whole post. As an actor, I can understand creating a story for your character and working with your character to understand them better so you can portray them more accurately. But when you’re working on something like Glee, the character belongs to you in a different way - the show decides how they act and what their motivations are, and you as the actor have to make sense of it. It’s not about creating the best Gary Stu for the job, it’s about doing your job and not letting your fandom or ego get in the way of your job. Admittedly Oliver seems like a good actor, I can’t dash him there, but I think he needs to leave a little more of his own puffed-up chest at the door.
when my sister plays the top 40 station on tv all day long, with the volume turned up loud enough to reach her all the way across the dining room and into the kitchen.
i am going to fucking tear my brains out so i can stop listening to the constant stream of shitty music.
i drowned it out with moulin rouge earlier, but the movie ended a long time ago, and jesus this goddamn ritual of hers makes me SO IRRATIONALLY ANGRY.
(wow i’m having deja vu)
I think the development and personalities of the characters is one thing that has gotten steadily worse as Glee has progressed. As S1 occurred and even through about mid-S2, they seemed a lot less like they were each shoved into their main stereotypes or tropes. Obviously, there were certain stereotypical elements in place because playing with those is a common comedic device (remember when Glee was a comedy?). But aside from their little boxes that they fit in, the characters had their quirks and unique things that made them more multidimensional.
I’m not saying that they’ve completely lost that, but yeah, for the most part I tend to agree with you. I’ve noticed the extreme-focus-on-a-single-trait a lot with Rachel. Her character has just changed completely, and now it’s sort of a broken record with her. “I’m gonna be a star. I want to fall in love.” On the other hand, you have characters like Seb and Hunter, who were only ever put on the show TO be bad guys, so while I regret that we didn’t find out more about them as people (mostly regarding Seb, not Hunter, because personally, I’d love to find out more about his past and what occurred that hardened him so much and made him such an asshole in the first place), that doesn’t surprise me.
IMO, what they’ve done that’s worse than boxing their characters in by giving them one major trait is the fact that they ignore those given traits when it’s more convenient to simply force them into the plot they’ve created. e.g. Loving, heart-eyed, devoted Blaine cheating on the love of his life because they need a reason to break them up; forget that they could make it more realistic and believable with just a little more effort; “Just make him cheat, and we’ve got the needed drama, yay!” The way they throw around the characters’ personalities is super unrealistic.
I’m not sure what point I’m even trying to get at, and I’ve rambled for too long already, so I’m just gonna stop. :P
TL;DR: Yes, I agree that Glee has gotten ridiculously sloppy and lazy with their characterization.
